He turned to sculpting at the age of seventeen to support his family after the death of his father who was also a sculptor. He has been sculpting full time ever since and has developed a very distinct style that is powerful. yet graceful.
Godfrey chooses to work with serpentine because of its resilience and color. The forms he likes to create are traditional because of his eagerness to educate people about African culture.
He is keen to improve his sculpting, committing to improve himself with each new piece. He consistently produces pieces of the highest caliber. As one of Zimbabwe's emerging artists, his future is promising.
